Owner of Mullins Lymphedema Therapy, L.L.C. Susan’s own journey with lymphedema began a few months after undergoing breast cancer treatments in 2015. She was already a physical therapist (receiving her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 1997), having specialized in neurological and orthopedic diagnoses and working at rehab hospitals including Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC, and Coastal Rehab at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. She specialized in neuro and orthopedic rehab as a physical therapist, but once she was diagnosed with lymphedema, she knew she wanted to learn everything she could about lymphedema and help people to live their best life in the presence of lymphedema. She became certified in lymphedema therapy (CLT) through the Norton School of Lymphedema Therapy in 2017, which teaches the Foeldi Method of Complete Decongestive Therapy. Susan Mullins went on to work as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist at UNC Hospital’s Center for Rehabilitation Care in Chapel Hill, NC.
